You can assign Licenses to users which is NOT a best practise, its always recomanded to assign licenses to group instead of individual users. Let us see both the approaches assinging license to individual users and to a group.
Assign AAD P2 Licenses to a User:
To Assign AAD license to user navigate to Azure Active Directory Service by searching in search bar of Azure portal as shown below.
Let us now check how many Azure Active Directory licenses we have and of what edition, to check this navigate to Licenses section in Azure AD and then navigate to All Products section.
In the above screenshot we see there are 100 Azure Active Directory P2 licenses out of which two are already used and 98 licenses are available.
Let us now navigate to Users section in Azure AD and assign license to a user tocuser10.
Select the user tocuser10 navigate to Licenses option as shown below and assign license by selecting Assignments option.
Selecting Licenses in this case Premium P2 and Save. Now a Premium P2 license in assinged to
tocuser10.
Assign AAD P2 Licenses to a Group:
Let us now navigate to Groups section in Azure AD and assign license to a group AGgroup1
As shown above select the group AGgroup1 navigate to Licenses option as shown below and assign license by selecting Assignments option.
